Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. FormFit decodes, resizes and compresses everything inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your image never leaves your device, so there is nothing to upload, store or delete.

How do I make a photo under 50 KB without it looking bad?

Enter your KB limit in the Max field and choose JPG. FormFit binary-searches the JPEG quality scale to find the highest quality that still fits under your limit, so you lose the least detail possible. If the limit cannot be met at your required dimensions, it tells you instead of failing silently.

Can I set the size in centimetres or inches instead of pixels?

Yes. Pick cm, mm or in as the unit and FormFit converts to pixels using the DPI you set, defaulting to 300. Switching units restates the same physical size rather than reinterpreting the number.

What if a form requires a minimum file size?

Accepted Answer

Enter the value in the Min KB field. FormFit pads the JPEG with empty comment segments to reach the minimum, which adds bytes without touching image quality.

Does FormFit work offline?

Yes. It is an installable progressive web app. After your first visit it is cached, so it keeps working with no network connection.
